Lulu & Co. Enlists An Angeleno For Resort

“Our customer is a fashion girl who wears sneakers with a party dress,” said London designer Lulu Kennedy to WWD. “It’s never too ladylike.” And, quite frankly, we could totally see ourselves pairing some kicks with one of Lulu & Co.’s Resort pieces. The floral embellishments and lace miniskirts are innocent enough, but when paired with sweatshirts littered with cheeky sayings, you’ve got that tongue-in-cheek “fashion girl” that Kennedy’s referring to. The illustrated slogans, which were created by LA’s own Beverly Ealdama, are on point in today’s social media-obsessed culture. Ironically enough, the designer discovered Ealdama on Tumblr, then hired her to make customers LOL with suggestive lingo. We have a funny feeling this collection will impress all walks of life, even the most technologically inept customers.
