Know it Now – Style + Spirit

Founded on the belief that style and spirit can go hand in hand comes a graphic apparel line for the spiritually inclined – (appropriately titled) Style + Spirit. The brand is all about marrying the seemingly opposite worlds of style and spirituality, and paying homage to the ideal that you don’t have to sacrifice one in order to have the other.
As a blogger herself, founder Natalie Comstock knows a thing or two about style. Her collection of uplifting graphic tees are a natural extension of her own blog and messaging, defining ‘style’ as a life where the external is simply a reflection of the empowering beauty of the internal. CULT: What was your inspiration behind the brand?
Natalie – My dual passion for fashion/style and spirituality/self-development is really what inspired the brand. I wanted to use style as a way to remind us to be better people and to embody positive messages. I also just really wanted there to be one-stop shop for cool graphic apparel that touted messages I was proud to wear and had a positive impact on people. I couldn’t find anything out there that really matched this vision of the marriage of style and spirituality so I just decided to create it! As a blogger who is immersed in both the style and wellness side of things, I knew I wasn’t the only one who would love for something like this to exist. It was something I felt passionate about and I felt like there was a gap in the market, so I went for it.

CULT: What message do you hope your collection sends?
Natalie – I hope it encourages people to not only embody the messages they’re wearing, but also to embody their own truths and beliefs. I want people to be inspired to look inward and to be reminded to be the best version of themselves. I also hope it sends the message that you can be a really cool, stylish, modern day girl while still being rooted in spirit and living a life of depth and meaning that goes beyond the material.

CULT: How do you exhibit positivity in other everyday ways of your life?
Natalie – For me, it’s all about perspective and doing my best to be grateful every day for the little things. I always strive to bring good energy and kindness to every interaction I have. When things get challenging or tough or I just have a crappy day, it’s about honoring how I feel and allowing myself to feel whatever emotions are there, but knowing on a deeper level that this is just a passing experience and having the positive perspective that every challenge I face happens for a reason and is only an opportunity for me to learn, grow, and expand.
