Every month CULT’s editors Drea and Sarah will bring you a list of their current obsessions. The only rule? That the product be made in CA or inspired by the sunny state. Ready, set, go!
Drea’s Picks:
1. Compartes Chocolate, Infinite Series Bar 09 / Cereal Bowl / Cornflakes White Chocolate ($9.99)
What’s better than a big bowl of milky cornflakes? A big bowl of milky cornflakes swimming in a sea of delicate white chocolate, brought to you by LA’s own Willy Wonka of Chocolatiers – Compartes. I am obsessed with the quirky flavors like Macallan Whiskey, Huckleberry Balsamic, and Carmelized Waffle Cone – I keep them in my desk drawer for 3pm pick-me-ups!
2. Mohawk General Store, Juniper Ridge Cabin Spray in Big Sur ($65)
I just got back from camping in Big Sur this past weekend and am having serious nostalgia for the fresh air and smell of campfire. I wish I could pack the smell of the coastal forest and bring it back to smoggy LA without hoarding pine leaves and redwood bark in my car. (Not like I’ve never tried…) But this Cabin Spray is hands-down is the next-best-thing to the real deal!
3. Iron & Resin, Fall Hooligan Hoedown Tank ($15)
If you missed the Hooligan Hoedown at Pappy and Harriet’s last month, fear not – you can still pretend you partook in the fun by rocking this rad Iron & Resin tank.
4. Mr. Kate, Weird Cuff Bracelet ($119)
My will to be weird is roughly equal to my desire to wear this Mr. Kate bracelet everyday of my life.
Sarah’s Picks:
5. Reformation x Baron Von Fancy, Truth Pillow ($98)
I’m a Reformation junkie, and the recent collab with artist Baron Von Fancy is definitely my cup of tea. The pillow insert is made with recycled plastic soda bottles, which means my clever couch accessory is Earth-friendly as well!
6. Vanessa Mooney x For Love and Lemons, The Purple Haze Earrings ($375)
Another collab I’m obsessing over is between two brands I already love! According to the site, “these stones are believed to give you feelings of deep peace and encourage clear communication from the heart.” I can get behind that!
7. Poketo, Infinite Candies Clutch ($48)
Now that invites for holiday shindigs are starting to pile up, I’ll need a carry-all that goes from day to night in a pinch. Painted by Kindah Khalidy, this candy-colored clutch is down-right sweet.
8. The Tappan Collective, Jay Ezra’s “Los Angeles 5” ($200)
Jay Ezra’s photographs show a side of LA I don’t often see. I’d love to have a series of his images hanging in my home to remind me to look up and appreciate this city whenever I can.
